Bartomeu Sastre was born in Mallorca in 1986 and studied Fine Arts at the Universitat de Barcelona.
Some of his solo shows are "Rehearsal for an improvised monologue" (Galeria Fran Reus, Palma, 2018) or La voluntad (the will) at Box 27 (Casal Solleric, Palma, 2014), curated by Tolo Cañellas. He has also made some performances, like "Rehearsal for an improvised monologue" realized at SWAB Barcelona Contemporary Art Fair (2018) and at Galería Fran Reus, Palma, (2018). In the past, he had made projects with the name Angélique Pailler ((/ ((, like "Everyday Practice", curated by Ana Jehle (LAB Artists Unlimited. Bielefeld, Germany, 2016) and "The intervening space between two points or things" (CCA Andratx, 2015) . He has also made projects with Marcos Cuesta under the name Cuesta-Sastre, like "We are the new slaves" (in the cycle "Financial Crimes. Poéticas en la era del colonialismo financiero", curated by Ivan Mejía, Sala Montcunill - Espai Dos, Terrassa, 2013). He has participated in various group shows as "Tabula Rasa" (curated by Fernando Gómez de la Cuesta and Pau Waelder, Es Baluard, Palma, 2014), "Burned by the sun" (Lundgren Gallery, Palma) or "15 piezas en 3 actos" (curated by Zaida Trallero, Eduardo Hurtado and Rosa Lleó, Sant Andreu Contemporani, Barcelona, 2011). He has also given some workshops, among which stands out his participation in "Zona intrusa 12: Prendre la paraula", curated by Rita Andreu. Furthemore, he has worked in the educational department of Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró (Mallorca, 2011-2013). He has won prizes like Art Jove organized by Govern Balear (Palma, 2012) and has received grants like one of the Fundació Guasch Coranty (Barcelona, 2010). |
